FAQs
Welcome to the FAQs page.
Here I (hopefully) have answers to any questions you may have while visiting the site. If you have any additional questions that are not addressed below, please feel free to send an email to imerei@deguildreddesigns.com. A response should be sent within 5 - 7 days. Thank you for your interest.
Products and Shipping
This section is dedicated to answering questions and concerns related to ordering items and shipping items from my site.
How will my items be shipped?
All items will be shipped using USPS. Based on the size of the item(s), the container used can be a flat mailer, a bubble envelope, or a shipping tube. My priority is ensuring that you receive your item(s) safely and in a timely fashion.
How long will shipping take?
All packages are being shipped from Florida, which tends to experience hurricanes from time to time. During fair weather or a non-holiday period, your packages may take from 3 to 7 days after processing to arrive at domestic locations; longer delivery times will occur for International locations.
For holiday delivery by December 25th, items must be in the mail by the following dates:
-
December 2nd: International (non-US locations)
-
December 16th: Alaska & Hawaii
-
December 18th: Domestic locations
Due to updated regulations and a desire to stay compliant, I have been forced to halt physical shipments to the European Union (EU). While I do regret limiting access to any potential customer base, I am a small business and want to keep costs in check for ALL of my customers regardless of where they are from. I pray that I will be able to accommodate all customers in the future, and I will be sure to update the website when I can. Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.
How long does processing take?
Processing orders can take from 1 to 2 weeks. Please plan accordingly if you are considering an order around the holidays or special dates.
Artwork and Commissions
This section is dedicated to answering questions and concerns related to my artwork and commission times.
How do you price your work?
My work is priced based on a combination of the following:
-
Research - I do conduct research to ensure images are as original and cohesive as I can make them
-
Number of hours needed to produce an image - This includes sketches/concepts, reworking, and occasionally color; traditional work costs more because it takes longer to complete, and errors are more difficult to correct
-
Cost of supplies used - Most of my work is digital to keep costs relatively low, but any potential traditional work will cost more due to supplies
-
Experience - I've been actively drawing/conceptualizing for 17 years
How often do you produce new work?
As an illustrator, you are almost always drawing, designing, and asking yourself "What if?" when it comes to your work. I'm always "producing" something, but I will attempt to share completed work at least once a month. I am working on other projects that I can hopefully share with you soon.
Do you take commissions?
I am not taking commissions at the moment; however, I do want to consider taking commissions at the beginning of the new year, once the holiday season is over and I've rested.
I will say the following about commissions prior to the window opening:
-
I normally do not take exposure for services. Unless I feel the project speaks to my values or you are willing to sign a legal document guaranteeing a specific amount of exposure, money (USD) is expected as payment.
-
All commissions are meant for personal, non-distribution, non-resale use only -- I am not producing AI artwork or NFTs. If you want to discuss potential distribution, I will provide a mailing address to receive your proposals for my legal representation to review upon request.
-
A mandatory 50% of the final cost will need to be paid before I begin working; this is non-refundable, so please be sure that you want to commission me. After that, you will receive progress shots with updates as needed during the sketching portion of the piece, 3 watermarked progress shots during coloring, and a heavily watermarked version of the final image. The remaining unpaid portion of the overall cost is due BEFORE I release a complete, non-watermarked version of the commission to you.
-
While I will always try to please my customers and have pleasant interactions, I will also impose boundaries if working with you becomes unpleasant -- abusive language, expecting completion "overnight", excessive and unrealistic changes, trying to force a discount on the final price after confirmation, etc. If I deem you "unpleasant" to work with, I will either ban you from requesting future commissions or impose a severe "Asshole Tax" to all future commissions you may request. I've worked in enough toxic environments over the years, I won't allow my current one to become another.
Are there any subjects you will not draw?
Please do NOT ask me to draw any of the following:
-
Gratuitous nudity or NSFW - I'm not afraid of the human body, but I do believe in tasteful representation
-
Excessive gore and violence
-
Extremist propaganda, or anything that specifically marginalizes people based on gender, race, religion, ability, country of origin, etc. - Just NO!
-
One-to-one copies of preexisting material - I'm not trying to get sued. Period. But if you actually work for the company and want to hire me, I will ask my legal representatives to look at your proposal and get back to you.
